A letter from Florence, Cents for Seeds Program Coordinator

I would like to thank you so much for your contributions and support towards the Cents for Seeds program being implemented by Love Mercy Foundation.
— Florence Ademun, Cents for Seeds Program Coordinator

“Over the years, we have registered a number of achievements in the communities that are participating in our programs, including:

  • Improved standards of living: The women are now able to afford household items without completely depending on their husbands. This is because they make money from the small businesses they have started through savings and lending Associations (VSLA). They can even borrow money without difficulty from their saving groups and be able to expand their businesses.

  • Knowledge and skills acquired: The women and girls have acquired agricultural knowledge through our training sessions, they have also acquired financial skills through the VSLA trainings.

  • More new projects have been well implemented in the needy communities; and these are of great benefit to the people, like water harvesting and bore hole drilling which have extended clean drinking to the communities that lacked.

  • Improved communication and relations: Our women are now able to communicate and relate well with one another, this is through our constant meetings that are normally held with them. During the meetings, they make new friends and are able to communicate their problems very well to the staff, we therefore know all their needs, demands and intentions.

Communities participating in our projects are very happy and appreciative. Many are willing to gain knowledge and skills for survival, but some of our projects are limited to a specific number due to financial constraints; but if you keep supporting us, we shall be able to reach as many as possible.”

Yours,
Florence Ademun
